Narendra Modi appeals for ‘One India, Great India’; Expresses concern over rising climate deterioration
Expresses concern over the rising climate deterioration, seeks people to address the issue positively. Explains the profit of MUDRA scheme through his Mann Ki Baat programme.
New Delhi, November 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to the people of India for — Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat (One India, Great India) — in his speech during the 14th edition of Mann Ki Baat which was broadcast in All India Radio. During the 30 minutes speech he was seen concerned over the rising climate deterioration and global warming.
Modi in his speech said that recently there have been flood in the southern part of the country and thousands of people have lost their houses and farming lands. He showed his concern over the issue and said that the government is with the people of Tamil Nadu during their tough times and assures all the possible help for them. He said, “Recently Tamil Nadu suffered from the worst times and the government is standing for all possible help.” But, also sought people to reorganise and think on the how to take care of the mother nature. Speaking about the conservation of energy, Modi mentioned the name of Kanpur based Noor Jahan who has with her efforts enlightened more than 500 houses with the concept of distributing solar lamps. He thanked he for the noble initiative and said that Indians need to focus on the clean and green energy. He also thanked Zee News for reporting the news and said that more such successful stories should be addressed. Speaking about the the contributions of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates under the Bill & Melinda Foundation, Modi said, “I would like to thank Bill Gates and his foundation for reaching out to the needy and empowering them by making them self-sufficient.” The Prime Minister also recalled the contributions of ASHA workers.

When asked by a person from Ghaziabad about the profits of MUDRA scheme, Modi said that the scheme is helping the people with its three motives. He said, “Through the scheme MUDRA, small entrepreneurs will be benefited via 3 Es — Enterprise, Earning and Empowerment. The MUDRA banks will fund the unfunded.” What he meant to say was that through the scheme the government is trying to empower the young people by providing them easy loans. While, concluding his 30-minute speech Modi said that there has been a rising case of global warming and we all need to be alert. He also appealed that people need to take care of themselves in the winter and start spending some time doing exercise.
