The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is believed to get majority votes in Nashik because of its stronghold in the city and with its contact interaction with people. There is going to be a power fight between MNS, Shiv Sena and the BJP in Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). Recently, MNS chief Raj Thackeray during a recent election rally wooed voters by showcasing the achievements by the MNS through Power point presentations. Thackeray, earlier this month attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his 2014 election promise that he would deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank accounts of every Indian. This money would be the one that is stashed abroad. The MNS chief also took a dig at Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and criticized him of speaking lies.
For smooth functioning of election process, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched two websites namely http://nmcvotersearch.co.in/ and www.nashikcorporation.in where voters can check for their names along with the address of their polling booth. After being denied ticket by BJP, former BJP corporators Madhukar Hingmire and Suresh Patil are in fray as rebels in NMC elections. Reports by PTI stated that Shiv Sena’s rebel leaders like Devanand Birari, former Mayor Vinayak Pande, his son Ruturaj Pande, Deepak Badgujar and Sudhakar Jadhav, who were disappointed at being denied party ticket, had earlier filed their nominations as independents but later withdrew their papers.
