New Delhi, September 12: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has entered into a partnership with Google Maps to provide information on their metro travails. The Maps will reportedly provide information about different lines, fare, travel time and platform details.
DMRC said that the motive behind the initiative was to help commuters manage their travel time and make travelling easier. Details of transit point will also be made available on mobile devices with Google Maps so that customers can make route changes. Commuters can also choose the public transport option for going to places using public transport.
“The user will now see an option to open Delhi Metro’s schematic maps, which will give them a quick way to find their way around their city in addition to the powerful route finding Google Maps offers today. The user can also find relevant info about various metro routes, platform and fare details,” TOI quoted a spokesperson.
The total length of Delhi metro tracks is around 218 km. The DMRC runs 3,000 trips daily, carrying 2.76 million passengers daily and 1 billion riders annually.
