A 60-year-old vegetable vendor was killed this afternoon as a speeding truck rammed a stall near Bada Balaji temple on Mangrol-Baran road under Sadar police station of Baran city of Kota division.

One killed as truck rams roadside stall

Kota, May 25: A 60-year-old vegetable vendor was killed this afternoon as a speeding truck rammed a stall near Bada Balaji temple on Mangrol-Baran road under Sadar police station of Baran city of Kota division.

The deceased was identified as Jagannath Prajapat, a resident of Badagaun of Baran district, said ASI, Sadar police station Mahaveer Prasad Bhargav. Police have lodged a case against the truck driver. Jagannath was selling vegetables at his roadside stall when the truck hit him before ramming a kiosk which was shut at the time of the mishap.(ALSO READ:Mumbai: Dreadful accident at Borivali Railway station, woman killed on spot (Video).

Jagannath sustained severe injuries in the mishap and was rushed to the government hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, the ASI said.

Police have lodged a case of rash and negligent driving against the truck driver, Raghuveer Rabari. The truck has also been seized, he said.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his family after a post-mortem.
