Uri attack: Manoj Thakur, who recited ‘Kashmir to hoga Pakistan nahi hoga’ receives death threat
The officer in a Facebook post said that he has been receiving death threats from 'enemies'.
New Delhi, Oct 10: Manoj Thakur who recited the patriotic poem ‘Kashmir to hoga, Pakistan nahi hoga..” following the Uri attacks, has received death threats. The officer in a Facebook post said that he has been receiving death threats from ‘enemies’. He also shared screenshots of the message he received from a person claiming to kill him.
A video of Thakur singing a patriotic sing had gone viral with thousands of people sharing it on Facebook and other social networking sites. Although Thakur uploaded the video on Kargil Day, it went viral in the wake of Uri terrorist attack that killed 19 soldiers at the border. Thakur was seen singing the song in a police van carrying other police officers. In the video Thakur says that Pakistan would be wiped out of the world map if the country planned anything against the country. Here is the Facebook post:
In the video he says that if there is a war, Kashmir will remain, but Pakistan would not. He also said that they are scared of Pakistan, but of the Tashkant and Shimla pacts. He also sent out a warning reminding them of the defeat of Pakistan the hands of Indian army in 1965, 1971 and 1999.
The attack in Uri, a small town located 103km north of Srinagar, woke up to heavy gunfire killing 19 soldiers. Four terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed who group entered the battalion headquarters of 10 Dogra regiment were eliminated. India conducted surgical strike in the aftermath of the attacking and claimed to have killed terrorists waiting to infiltrate through the Line of Control (LoC). Indian targeted seven terror launch pads across the LoC on the night of September 28 and 29 during which heliborne and ground forces were deployed. It was a five-hour-long operation. Surgical strike triggered controversy in the country after Pakistan denied any such attack, calling it cross-border firing. Following the strike, Pakistan violated ceasefire along the LoC 25 times in a week, to which India retaliated with force.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal who demanded evidence of the strike was attacked by BJP leaders. Although he saluted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the strike, he asked for proof of the attack to stop baseless claims of Pakistan. Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam who called surgical strike ‘fake’ also faced backlash. His opinion came after Congress president Rahul Gandhi praised Modi for the strike. He also came under attacked after his ‘khoon ki dalali’s statement where-in he said that Modi is exploiting sacrifices of soldiers.
