Pune, Oct 23: In a battle against ‘triple talaq’, an 18-year-old Muslim girl from Pune has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate steps to bring uniform civil code to curb this tradition. Arshiya says this tradition has destroyed generations of Muslim women and wants to bring a reform to this age old custom.

At the age of 16, Arshiya was married off to Mohammad Kazim Bagwan who was a rich vegetable trader. As per reports by TOI, Mohammad Kazim is not ready to accept her saying he has no place for Arshiya in his heart. He asked Arshiya to leave his house along with an eight-month-old child.
