Pune, September 16: A three-year-old boy was left with a swollen face after he was brutally beaten by the tuition teacher in Pune. The incident dates back to September 11. A case has been registered against the teacher identified as Bhagyashri Pillay on Wednesday night.
As reported by DNA, police charged the teacher for hurting the minor under Section 324 of Indian Penal Code and section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act 2015. The parents informed that the police didn’t register the complaint immediately. However, refuting the charges made by the parents of the child, the police officials informed that the boy’s parents were having second thoughts about filing a police complaint as Pillay had agreed to pay for the treatment of the boy.
Senior inspector Ajay Chandkhede, in charge of Sangvi police station, told DNA that the parents decided to lodge the complaint on Wednesday. The police filed a complaint as soon as the parents approached them. Chandkhede added, “On Monday the boy had gone to Pillay’s house. When his parents returned home, they saw that the face of the boy had swollen badly. When they asked the boy, he told them that the teacher hit him with wooden scale on his hand, back and head”.
After the police complaint, Pillay was arrested. The tuition teacher was produced before the court and has been sent to one-day police custody. The boy’s family and the tuition teacher reside in the same locality. The minor’s parents are labourers.
The incident comes at a time when the country is still disturbed with the murder of a 7-year-old school boy at Ryan International school in Gurugram.
