New Delhi, Dec 7: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi launched another attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) just one day ahead of the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017. As the campaign for the first phase ended today, the Congress V-P accused the party of showing disrespect to the people of Gujarat.

“The BJP has shown unbelievable disrespect towards the people of Gujarat. Campaign is over and STILL no mention of a manifesto for the people, no vision and no ideas presented for Gujarat’s future,” he tweeted.

Earlier in the day, he questioned the Prime Minister over farmer policies and their implementation. He has asked the Prime Minister about what happened to the promises made to farmers.

The jibe came a day after Gandhi raised the eighth question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ‘question a day series’ and asked about the deteriorating healthcare facilities, infant mortality, malnourishment levels. He even accused the PM of ‘gifting government hospital to a friend’.

In his tweet on Wednesday, he claimed that 39 per cent children are suffering due to malnourishment and the rate of infant mortality is also too high. The Congress V-P attacked the Prime Minister over lack of doctors and high price for the treatment at hospitals and also took a dig at him for ‘gifting a government hospital to his friend’ for 99 years even when the state is experiencing such dip in the healthcare facilities.

On Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi had questioned PM Modi over price rise. He had listed down the price of essential items in 2014 and 2017 by showing the rise in prices as high as Rs 328.

The two-phase Gujarat elections will take place on December 9 and 14. The counting of votes and results will be declared on December 18.
