New Delhi, Dec 28: Speaking to reporters on the occasion of the Congress party’s 132nd foundation day, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi again slammed PM Narendra Modi on his move to demonetise India’s two high value notes. In the list of questions that Rahul Gandhi asked Narendra Modi, the amount of black money that has come back into the system since demonitisation was one of them. He also said that note ban is an example of Narendra Modi fostering fear among people. PM Modi “is doing only what he wants”, he said, calling demonetisation an example.

Rahul Gandhi said that now that 50-day deadline is coming to an end, the PM needs to answer the key questions. On this the BJP party snapped back bringing the allegations that bribe were paid to officials and politicians to supply choppers to be used by top leaders when the Congress was in power and said that before Rahul Gandhi asks Narendra Modi any questions, he (Rahul Gandhi) needs to answer who benefitted most from the VVIP chopper scam.

Rahul Gandhi said: “Modi ji has performed demonetisation yagna for 50 families and one per cent super rich people of the country. What are the collections after November 8? What is the loss incurred by economy? How many people have died after November 8, have they been given compensation?”

“Who were the experts the PM consulted before the notes ban?” Rahul Gandhi asked.

The BJP’s Srikant Sharma shot back saying that the BJP understands his frustration. He added, “Rahul Gandhi ji, you have been helping those who tried to destroy the nation with their black money. Since the allegations against you in the VVIP chopper scam reached your doorstep, you should first answer who benefited from the mota maal (hefty amount).”

Promoting Congress Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress party listens to people and does work for people and the idea of the party is not about what the party (Congress) wants to do. Mr Gandhi said, adding, “Congress is the idea that it is not only my view that will prevail…I must seek out your views.”

“We can all see what a disastrous decision that has been. People in the country have been robbed of their money. Why has Modi ji imposed such restrictions on people? He just wants to instill fear among people,” Rahul Gandhi said.
