New Delhi, Dec 6: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, days ahead of the first phase of Gujarat Assembly elections 2017, raised the eighth question to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ‘question a day series’ and asked about the deteriorating healthcare facilities, infant mortality, malnourishment levels. He also accused the PM of ‘gifting government hospital to a friend’.
In his tweet, he claimed that 39 per cent children are suffering due to malnourishment and the rate of infant mortality is also too high. The Congress V-P attacked the Prime Minister over lack of doctors and high price for the treatment at hospitals. Hardening his attack, he took a dig at the PM for ‘gifting a government hospital to his friend’ for 99 years even when the state is experiencing such dip in the healthcare facilities.
Earlier yesterday, Rahul Gandhi had questioned PM Modi over price rise. He had substantiated his claims by listing down the price of essential items in 2014 and 2017 by showing the rise in prices as high as Rs 328.
Notably, the tagline of his posers to the prime minister is “22 salon ka hisaab, Gujarat mange jawaab (Gujarat demands answers for 22 years of BJP rule)”.
The two-phase Gujarat elections will take place on December 9 and 14. The counting of votes and results will be declared on December 18.
