Barmer (Rajasthan), September 15: A six-year-old school girl was allegedly gang raped inside the boundaries of a school government here on Thursday. ” The girl of class 2 was tied to a desk in a classroom near the washroom of the school and gang-raped,” said the father of the victim in his statement to the police.

Acting promptly, the police filed a complaint on the basis of the statement recorded by the victim’s father and detained the two sweepers of the school. A FIR was registered under section 376(D), 376-2(I) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Also, a FIR was registered under the ‘anti-child sexual abuse act’, informed Anita Rani, in-charge of the women’s police station in Barmer to Hindustan Times.

The six-year-old is in the hospital and as per the doctors, she is in a stable condition.  Doctors did not find any external or internal injuries but to obtain a clear picture, Police dispatched the vaginal swab of the girl for forensic examination.

How did the case come to light:

The girl informed her parents about the severe pain she had in her private parts. After this, the girl was taken to the nearby hospital and the doctors who suspected a sexual assault apprised the cops about it.

A team of cops was asked to visit the school premises and investigate the matter. The cops were accompanied by district collector Shivprasad Nakate and several faculties of the school were questioned.

  • A taxi driver has been arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly raping a 23-year-old woman from Punjab after offering her a lift.

Recently, a class 2 student of Ryan International School in Gurugram was found dead in the washroom of the school with his throat slit. After this incident, the Supreme Court asked the Centre and all the states to implement safety steps for children and file a reply in three weeks.
