Amit Shah, known for surprising everybody with his chief ministerial choices, did it again with his Presidential announcements. At a time when the names of Draupadi Murmu and Sushma Swaraj had been doing the round, Kovind’s nomination is a stunner. However, with this, the BJP has played its trump card. Since he is a Dalit by caste, the opposition will have a tough time in opposing him.
