Sachin Tendulkar pays homage to late APJ Abdul Kalam

New Delhi, July 28: Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Monday expressed condolence over the sudden demise of former president A.P.J Abdul Kalam, saying that India mourns the loss of a great person, a renowned scientist and above all, a terrific human being.

“The nation mourns the loss of a great person. Former President of India, a renowned scientist, an inspiration to all, a terrific human being…RIP Abdul Kalam,” Tendulkar wrote on Twitter. READ: Ram Gopal Varma mocks Abdul Kalam’s death?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI) also paid their tribute saying, “RIP Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Impeccable character and indomitable spirit.” Kalam, 84, passed away in Shillong earlier today after he was admitted to a hospital in the city.

The former president collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management. He was in a critical condition and had been admitted to the city’s Bethany Hospital. Kalam served as the 11th President on India from 2002 to 2007.
