Senior Journalist KJ Singh And His Mother Found Dead in Mohali; Murder Suspected
Former Deputy chief minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal took to Twitter to condemn the murder.
New Delhi, September 23: Senior journalist KJ Singh and his 92-year-old mother Gurcharan Kaur were found dead in their Mohali (Punjab) residence on Saturday, reported news agency ANI. It is being suspected that the two were allegedly murdered. The cops have launched an investigation into this matter.

Singh was a was a former news editor of The Indian Express and Times of India in Chandigarh.
Some visitors broke the door of the house after they got no response at the entrance gate. The journalist was found dead with his throat slit and also his car is missing.
Former deputy chief minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal took to Twitter to condemn the murder. He wrote, “Just heard senior journalist KJ Singh has been murdered along with his mother.”
In another tweet, Badal urged the cops to nab the preparators immediately. “I condemn the ghastly murder of senior journalist KJ Singh and his mother at Mohali. Urge police to nab perpetrators immediately,” the Shiromani Akali Dal leader said.

Two other journalists were killed in the month of September.
on September 20, Santanu Bhowmick, a journalist from ‘Dinrat’ news channel was kidnapped and killed in West Tripura district while covering the agitation and road blockade by the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT). Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was appalled by this murder. “Appalled at the gruesome murder of TV journalist Shantanu Bhowmik. Repeated attacks on media are worrisome for our democracy,” Gandhi scion had penned on Twitter.
On September 5, Gauri Lankesh, owner of Lankesh Patrike was shot dead by three unidentified men at her house in Bangalore. She was known for her stand against Right Wing ideology. Her murder was condemned by many in the nation.
