#SiachenSurvivor: Lance Naik Hanumanthappa passes away after multiple-organ failure
Liance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad, the lone survivor of Siachen avalanche passed away on Thursday morning after being on life support for three days.
New Delhi, Feb 11: Liance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad, the lone survivor of Siachen avalanche passed away on Thursday morning after being on life support for three days. He passed away at 11: 45 AM on Thursday after slipping into a deeper state of coma. According to the latest health bulletin by RR Army Hospital, Hanumanthappa’s health worsened further today. He was suffering from multiple organ failure and kidney dysfunction. According to sources, his urea and creatine levels were above normal and his condition worsened further his admission. He was put on dialysis oxygen levels in his blood and brain had dipped.
Hanumanthappa was recovered by rescue team after the avalanche hit his post and killed more nine people with him. However, he was found under 25 feet of snow by army rescue team during their search operations for the army men who were hit by the avalanche. Immediately after he was recovered, he was rushed to RR Hospital in New Delhi. (Also Read: Lance Naik Hanamanthappa’s condition continues to be critical)
After he was admitted, Defence Ministry said that there is also evidence of pneumonia in both his lungs and his multiple-organ dysfunction stae remained unimproved. Hanumanthappa hails from Koppal in Karnataka and is survived by family, wife and daughter.
