Smriti Irani illegitimate wife of Narendra Modi: Assam Congress leader hits a new low in Indian politics

Guwahati, Dec 28: A former Assam Congress Minister’s disparaging purported comments against Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani kicked up a storm, drawing strong condemnation from BJP which described his remarks as “shameful”. Nilamoni Sen Deka, former state Agriculture minister, reportedly made the remarks at a public meeting in Nalbari. He reportedly said that many people refer to Smriti Irani as the second wife of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Reacting sharply to the remarks, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav said it was a “shameful assertion” by the Congress leader towards Irani. “Is Congress management headed by a lady defending him? he tweeted. Strongly condemning the remarks, Union Sports Minister and Assam unit BJP Chief Sarbananda Sonowal told reporters here that the party’s state unit will soon file a defamation case against him.
