Srinagar, Nov 15: The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir received the first snowfall of the season in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, bringing temperature down in other parts of North India. Sonamarg in Ganderbal district and its surrounding areas received this snowfall on Wednesday at around 3 am. Rainfall and lightening was also reported in Jammu region as well as Srinagar.

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted more spells of rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir and snowfall in the higher areas of the state in the coming days. According to Skymet Weather, Western Disturbance has induced a a cyclonic circulation over the region, bringing rains and snow.

Meanwhile, the Met department has also predicted snowfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh today. Rains have lashed the region on Tuesday and continued on Wednesday. Rainfall was also reported from other parts of North India including Punjab and Rajasthan.

According to Skymet weather, rainfall is also predicted in Haryana and Delhi today or tomorrow.
