Chandigarh, Apr 16: An high alert was issued in Pathankot on Monday following inputs about suspicious movement of some people near Bamiyal, reported Zee News. A massive search operation has been launched by police in Pathankot to hunt them down. The armed suspicious men were in Army fatigue. They robbed a car, which has now been found by Punjab Police.
Punjab had witnessed two terror attacks in 2015 and 2016. In the first attack, three heavily-armed terrorists wearing army fatigues had stormed a police station in Dinanagar town of Gurdaspur district in July 2015 killing seven persons, including a superintendent of police (SP), before they were gunned down during a day-long operation.
In the second attack, four terrorists who had sneaked in from across the border, attacked the Pathankot air base on the intervening night of 1 and 2 January last year. The Pathankot attack had claimed the lives of seven security personnel while four terrorists were killed.
