Finally, the much awaited compact sedan from TATA Motors, Zest is ready to sizzle on road from August 12. Zest that has come to compete against other compact sedans like Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year. As compared to company’s earlier products like Vista and Manza, Zest looks new with beautiful its design, plush interiors and efficient suspension setups.
But what actually makes Zest special is its high power engine. Zest is powered with a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit and the 1.3-litre Multijet engine along with a proven diesel mill to choose from day one, but the killer punch is the AMT five-speed transmission on the diesel-engined Zest, the first small diesel with such a transmission in the country.
That apart, projector headlamps, day-time-running-LEDs, multi-mode engine drive (City, ECO & Sports) and 5-inch touch screen Harman powered infotainment system make Zest more distinguished from its rivals.
The manufacturer has too much expectation from the product as it is their first new product after the launch of Safari Storme in 2012. The booking had already commenced a few days ago.
