Patna, Apr 6: Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad, is all set to tie the knot with Aishwarya Rai, who is the daughter of senior party leader Chandrika Rai, in Patna around May.
The former Health Minister of Bihar, claiming that the match has been found by his parents, confirmed the news on Friday.
Tej Pratap also added that he will invite both chacha Nitish and uncle Sushil Modi for the wedding. His statement came over questions on the verbal jibes exchanges with Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi during his son’s marriage in December last year. 31-year-old Tej Pratap and Aishwarya will exchange rings on April 18 in a lavish ceremony at Hotel Maurya in Patna. The marriage is likely to take place on May 12.
Meanwhile, the chances of Lalu Prasad attending the engagement ceremony of his son have diminished as the Jharkhand High Court denied him bail on Friday. The next date for hearing in the case has been fixed as April 20.
Aishwarya, the would-be-wife of former health minister of Bihar, is the daughter of former minister Chandrika Prasad Rai, and is the eldest among her siblings. She belongs to Chhapra and is the granddaughter of ex-chief minister of state Daroga Prasad Rai. The 25-year-old has one sister, Ayushi Rai, and a brother, Apurva Rai. Ayushi is an engineer by profession and Apurva is pursuing law. She completed her higher secondary education from Patna’s Notre Dame Academy and has completed MBA from a private university in Noida. Her nickname, reportedly, is Jhipsi – a word used to refer to light rains in Bihar.
On the other hand, Tej Pratap has failed to clear his Class 12 exams. He entered politics and was elected from Mahua Assembly seat in 2015.
In 2017, during a press conference in Patna, Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi had declared that they would not take dowry in the weddings of their two sons – Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav.
