New Delhi, April 16: A father-in-law attacked his 25-year-old son-in-law with a pair of scissors following a fight over television remote in Telangana. The incident took place in the Baramgeda village of the Kamareddy district.
Police have arrested the accused. Briefing the incident, police said that Mangali Venkat was married to Akshita and was living at his in-law’s place. He was working in a saloon shop with his father-in-law Bujjayya. Last Wednesday Venkat came home after getting drunk. Venkat wanted to watch the ongoing IPL while Bujjayya was already watching a serial. Venkat asked his father-in-law to give him the TV remote, but Bujjayya didn’t give it saying that he was watching a serial.
Soon the argument turned fatal and angry Bujjayya attacked Venkat with a pair of scissors. Police also said that both were already fighting for some time over family matters. Venkat was immediately rushed to the hospital in Hyderabad.
The treatment was undergoing during which Venkat went into a coma for five days but later succumbed to his injuries on Saturday night. Police have registered a case under IPC section 302 against father-in-law.
