Hyderabad/Pune, April 10: Vamsi Krishna, a 23-year-old auto driver from Mahbubnagar district, kidnapped Ratlavath Chandru Naik, a class three student of Bharatiya Vidya Mandir school in Kothakota, and demanded the captive’s family to deliver his ladylove as ransom. He didn’t want money.

The kidnapper abducted the boy from school on April 7. Vamsi had an affair with the boy’s aunt. However, when the woman’s family came to know about it, they warned him not to be seen anywhere near so he planned to kidnap the boy. The Telangana police rescued the boy within 24 hours of abduction at Pune railway station after an inter-state operation on Monday.

The boy’s grandmother Ratlavath Julie lodged a complaint with Kothakota police on April 8 after getting repeated calls from Vamsi, and a kidnapping case was registered against him.

A special team was formed to rescue the boy. The kidnapper was tracked in Maharashtra. The police immediately alerted their counterparts in Sholapur and assistance of RPF sleuths was sought. Thus, Vamsi was nabbed at the Pune railway station in the early hours of Monday.
