New Delhi, Apr 11: Uber on Wednesday unveiled the updated version of the driver app which has ‘earnings tracker’ and ‘opportunities for more trips’ among other such features. The earnings tracker will tell the drivers how much they earned in their last trip which would eventually help them track their progress.

“At the top of the screen sits a new real-time Earnings Tracker. It lets drivers know—at a glance—how much they earned on their last trip, and makes it easy to track progress toward their goals,” Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said. The app, according to the reports, for now, will be available to its partner drivers in Kochi and Chennai.

“Drivers are the heart of our service. But along the way, we lost sight of that. We focused too much on growth and not enough on the people who made that growth possible. We called drivers “partners,” but didn’t always act like it. We needed to do better, and 180 Days of Change was the first step,” Dara said on the new driver app.

The app also shows market conditions and the opportunities for more trips. The ‘opportunity’ tab will also provide them the optional navigation to the recommended area. The app will also inform the drivers of the feedback from their riders and information relating to their account. “The Driver Profile gives drivers the opportunity to showcase themselves, and allows riders to learn more about their driver and find new ways to connect,” he further adds.

Introducing the new design and updates, Uber’s CEO took to Twitter and said, “Excited to introduce the new Driver app一built for and with drivers, and designed to meet their needs on their journey. Had a blast taking it for a spin. Driving is harder than it looks, but hopefully the new app makes the experience a lot less stressful.”
