Allahabad, November 14: Tired after campaigning for the Uttar Pradesh civic polls, state Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal ‘Nandi’ got foot massage from Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Allahabad.
According to the video, three BJP members were seen massaging foot of the Allahabad South MLA. BJP MLA from Allahabad North, Harshvardhan Bajpai, was seen sitting next to Nand Gopal Gupta.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath kickstarted the campaign for civic polls from the temple town of Ayodhya. Stressing on the importance of urban local bodies elections, he said that almost 30 per cent of the population of Uttar Pradesh lived in the 653 urban local bodies of the state. Even the remaining 70 per cent banks on the urban local bodies for many of their requirements.
Hence, we have to ensure the holistic development of the urban local bodies, he said.
As many as 652 urban local bodies across the state are going to polls, the highest number so far.
The three-phased civic polls are seen as a litmus test for the Yogi Adityanath government. The BJP came to the power in March after a landslide victory.
