Lucknow, April 16: In an awkward moment for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), some ministers including Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday sent out good wishes through their Twitter accounts for the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak in seven months advance.

After tweeting the greeting, the ministers realised that their wishes were too advance by seven months. As per the Hindu calendar, this year, Baba Guru Nanak’s birth date falls on 23 November. However, the social media was too quick to notice the silly mistake made by the Deputy CM Prasad Maurya, UP BJP spokesperson and health minister Siddharth Nath Singh, Minister of Medical Education Ashutosh Tandon and Law minister Brajesh Pathak. Some of the ministers deleted their tweets when they come to know about the real dates.

Later, Siddharth Nath Singh posted an apology message with an attachment of screenshot highlighting the wrong birth date of Guru Nanak on Twitter. “Sorry for Guru Nanak Ji’s birthday tweet. The confusion happened due to Wikipedia (enclosed). Apologies to everyone” reads the tweet posted by Singh.

A day before the tweets of BJP ministers, CM yogi Adityanath had visited Gurudwara Naka Hindola in Lucknow as a part of Baishaki Celebrations.
