Lucknow, November 14: A day after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto for the upcoming civic polls in Uttar Pradesh, Congress said that the party will release its “vision document” on Tuesday afternoon.
The Aam Aadmi Party is also contesting the upcoming the crucial Uttar Pradesh civic elections. The AAP has also released its manifesto for the upcoming elections.
“A vision document has already been prepared for the upcoming local body elections and it will be released tomorrow,” Congress spokesman Virendra Madan told PTI.
The Congress is promising potable water, hygiene, education and various other issues concerning the local bodies in its manifesto. The document will include the party’s vision of local governance and development programmes for the people, Madan said.
Stressing that BJP has been heading most of the urban bodies in UP, including in Lucknow, Madan said there is corruption almost everywhere.
“We will go to the people, tell them about the rampant corruption and ask them whether they still want the same individuals to head their local bodies,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will kick off the campaign for Bharatiya Janata Party from the temple town of Ayodhya on Tuesday. From November 14 to November 27, Yogi will address several rallies across the state.
The three-phased local body elections are seen as a litmus test for the Yogi Adityanath government. Earlier in March, the BJP came to power after a landslide victory.
