Lucknow, April 8: A woman and her family tried to commit suicide in front of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence on April 8, Sunday. Her family alleged that she was raped by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and his fellow comrades but no action has been taken as of now.
Narrating her ordeal, the woman said that she had been running hither and thither for the past one year but no one listened to her all this while. She claimed that she had been raped by a BJP MLA and his accomplices and the Chief Minister had taken no concrete steps to ensure that she got justice.
I was raped. I have been going from pillar to post for one year but no one listened to me. I want all of them arrested otherwise I will kill myself. I had even gone to the CM to no result. When we lodged FIR we were threatened: Woman allegedly raped by BJP MLA pic.twitter.com/wgHrNz1Bmi
The woman further alleged that she and her family were rather threatened when they lodged an FIR against the accused. The woman cried her heart out and demanded action be taken at the earliest or else she’d kill herself.
Meanwhile, Lucknow Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Rajiv Krishnan said,”The woman and her family alleged that Kuldeep Singh Sengar had raped her and no action had been taken rather they were beaten up by the other party. However, on further inquiry it was found that both parties were involved in a dispute since 10-12 years.”
ADG Krishnan added that the case had been transferred to Lucknow and the allegations made could be proved only after proper investigation.
