Uttarakhand rains: Students use rope trolley to cross flooded Alaknanda river

July 27: Heavy rains have caused flooding in major parts of Uttarakhand making it difficult for students to go to schools. Students were seen using ropes and trolley to cross rivers to go back home safely from school. Heavy rains in Srinagar have caused flooding in Alaknanda river which is flowing close to danger mark. Roads have also been blocked due to landslides because of which students had to cross the river using trolley.

Local residents also have to cross the river to visit the hospital or even go to the market. The overflowing river is a huge risk of the lives of people. The local residents have urged the local representatives many times, but to no avail. Incessant rainfalls have destroyed major parts of the state.

Haryana Chief Minister Harish Rawat has demanded Rs 500 crore from the Centre for rain-hit areas.Large scale damage has been caused by heavy rains and landslides in different parts of the state.
