New Delhi, September 16: A 44-year-old woman was arrested on Friday for abusing and slapping two army officers in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj. The victims reportedly recorded a video from their mobile phone, incriminating the woman. The vehicle she was travelling in during the incident has also been impounded.

Reports said that the alleged assailant Smriti Kalra was driving her car in a zigzag manner, blocking the passage for an army truck. When the army men disembarked and confronted the woman for her driving, she allegedly manhandled two army officers.

Complainant Mahavir Singh Rathore, an Army Subedar, said that he was dropping off five army men to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station when the incident occurred. He said a constable in the truck asked politely to let the truck pass. The woman allegedly hurled abuses at him and grabbed her collar. She later pounded with her fists on the windowpane of the car, when the driver disembarked, she slapped him twice on the face. Rathore said that he asked his colleagues to record the video of the incident, which he furnished as evidence to the police. The woman was released on a bail.
