We’ve known little about the storyline of Varun Dhawan‘s October since it has been under the wraps since so long. But until now. We’ve discovered October will be an adaptation of an Oscar Academy Winning Hollywood film (For Best Writing, Original Screenplay). The 2013 film titled Her follows the story of a lonely who writer in the near future, who develops an unlikely relationship with the artificial intelligence of an operating system which is designed to meet his every need. And as per the storyline, this should be a concept Bollywood has never seen before. No wonder the makers of the Varun Dhawan film wanted to keep the film in wraps.
A source close to the development tells DNA, “It’s a love story about one character like the Hollywood flick Her (2013) — a romantic sci-fi drama that was about a man who develops a relationship with an intelligent computer operating system personified through a female voice. While it will be slightly different, the film will be high on medical jargon. It’s sort of an experiment that the makers hope will strike a chord with the current generation.”
If the film is, in fact, based on the Hollywood flick, it would mean the new girl, 18-year-old Banita Sandhu, may not physically appear in the film, but instead just voice the character of the intelligence in the computer. And that seems likely now since it discloses the reason behind why the makers did not choose to opt for a leading actress for the role. If Varun Dhawan’s October is anything like the Hollywood flick, Shoojit Sircar should be expecting a hit on the cards.
