Kabul, Oct 21: At least 15 cadets were killed in a suicide attack at Marshal Fahim Military Academy in Kabul on Saturday. The suicide attack took place near a gate of the academy, near Qambar square, when a bus the cadets were travelling in was targeted in PD5 district of Kabul city at about 3.30 PM.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence confirmed the death toll. He also informed that four people have injured in the suicide attack. The cadets were trainees from the Daud Khan Military Hospital, a news agency reported.
The attack came just a few hours after rockets landed near the NATO headquarters in Kabul. At least two rockets were fired at foreign facilities on Saturday morning. Afghan security agencies said no organisation took the responsibility for the attack. No casualty was reported in the suicide attack.
On Friday, a suicide bomber attacked the Imam Zaman mosque in Dast-e-Barchi in Kabul city killing at least 39 people. On Tuesday, the Taliban attacked police compounds and government facilities with suicide bombers in Kabul city. Deputy Interior Minister of Afghanistan, Murad Ali Murad called the attack the “biggest terrorist attack this year.”
