New Delhi, April 15: Former First Lady of the United States Barbara Bush is in ‘failing health’, informed family spokesperson on Sunday. As per the statement released by the spokesperson, Mrs Bush had underwent series of hospitalisations. She has consulted with her family and doctors and decided not to seek additional medical treatment. She will now focus on comfort care.

The statement did not mentioned how critical her condition is however, it said that she is surrounded by a family and appreciates the messages and prayers she’s been receiving from people.

Barbara Bush was the 37th First Lady of the United States when her husband, George HW Bush, was President. During her husband’s tern as the vice president, she was also the 33rd Second Lady of the United States. She has six children, including former President George W Bush. During her time as First Lady, Barbara Bush focused on literacy.
