A suspect has been shot dead in a shootout by security forces in connection with Berlin terror attack in which 12 people were killed. According to initial reports, Berlin Christmas market attack suspect Anis Amri has been shot dead in Milan, Italy. The development came after Danish police reported sighting of a man matching his description in Aalborg, about 450 miles north of the German capital. 24-year-old Anis Amri was a Tunisian national.

Anis Amri was first caught on camera by police officers on a regular stake-out at a mosque in the Moabit district early on Tuesday. However when the police raided the mosque, they didn’t find him there. Earlier on Tuesday, German prosecutors freed the only suspect, citing insufficient evidence. He was identified by media only as Pakistani national Naved B.

Islamic State or ISIS has claimed responsibility for night truck assault at a Berlin Christmas market that killed 12 people. The lorry’s original driver, Polish citizen Lukasz Urban, was found dead on the passenger seat, reportedly with gunshot and stab wounds to his body.
