Canada Shooting: Ottawa shooting adds Canada to the dreaded terrorist attack list

Canada has just come under fire with the Ottawa shooting at the National War Memorial during which a Canadian soldier was killed. The sudden and unprovoked act of violence and bloodshed had the Canadian Parliament on lock down as the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, was rushed an undisclosed safe location. According to eyewitnesses, the soldier, who got shot, was standing guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier when a man with long hair fired four shots from his rifle.

The wounded soldier who was injured during the shooting was taken to the Civic Hospital, Ottawa for medical attention but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after reaching the hospital. Along with the soldier, there were three other victims of the shooting brought to the Civic Hospital. Two of the victims have minor injuries while one patient is being treated for grave wounds from the shooting.

The shooting occurred at 9:52 am according to the Ottawa Police via Twitter. The official Ottawa Police has been trying to calm the people, has asked the people to send in picture/videos of the incident/ avoid the downtown area as it is an on-going investigation and also cleared a rumour about the location of the shooting not being the nearby Rideau Centre.

There were reports that there were two or three mail assailants to blame for the heinous attack of which one was killed and there have been no confirmation if there have been more arrests made. The incident has prompted investigations at Parliament Hill and Rideau Centre, a nearby mall was also cleared out following rumours which were clarified by the police.
