Toulouse, Nov 10: Three people were injured after a car rammed through a group of students in front of a college in the French city of Toulouse. One of the three injured students is battling for his life. Police arrested the 28-year-old driver after a few minutes.

Media reports suggested that all three students are of Chinese origin. The incident occurred outside a college in the suburb of Blagnac.

The police said that the 28-year-old driver deliberately drove through the group, but he was not on the terror watch-list.  However, the man had been in conflict of the law in drugs-related cases. BBC quoted some unconfirmed reports that he may be suffering from major psychological problems.

The students are said to be aged 22 and 23. They have been admitted to hospital in the city. As of now, there is no indication that it is an act of terrorism.

The mayor of the city,  Jean-Luc Moudenc said that he was very shocked by the aggression towards the students. He offered support to the injured students and their families.

Mauling people using trucks and heavy vehicles has become modus-operandi of ‘lone wolf’ attackers inspired by the ideology of the terror group, ISIS. It is not clear as of now whether it is a terrorist attack or not.
