No firing reported at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), claims LAPD

Los Angeles, Aug 29: Los Angeles airport was thrown to chaos when shots were being fired from an unknown shooter. However, within about 30 minutes, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that there had been no shooting, no victims, and the emergency was called off, Boingboing reported. The shooting was proven to be loud noises with no shots fired and no Injuries. Investigation on to locate source, say police. Also, part of Los Angeles airport was closed due to possible gunfire.

It was around 9pm local time in Los Angeles when firing was reported at the airport. People, confused and panicked, tweeted about the situation there. Some tweets showed pictures of police rushing to the scene whereas in some other tweets, people were apparently being evacuated. Confusion and chaos were being reported at the terminals, RT.com reported. Meanwhile, tweetarati tweeted about few details that they witnessed at the airport. One of the tweets mentioned, “A man in a Zorro costume with a plastic sword was arrested” while LAPD confirms no victims found and no such shooting took place.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground stop at the airport until 10pm local time and authorities closed the airport to incoming traffic. US Media reported of an active shooter at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday morning. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) advised “Code 4A” at the airport, with no evidence of a shooting or victims, according to Culvercity311. The Los Angeles Fire Department says that “no significant incident” has yet been noted, KTLA reported.
