Miami, Sept 10: As Florida prepares for Hurricane Irma which is expected to hit the region anytime soon, a video has surfaced on the social media which shows bare beaches along the coastline of the Bahamas, where the Category 5 hurricane wreaked havoc a few days back. Irma has left Caribbean Islands devastated as it made way to Florida and killing at least 24 people.

On Saturday, Hurricane Irma had hit Cuba with winds of up to 160mph. Meanwhile, the hurricane has downgraded to a Category 3, but the National Hurricane Centre has predicted that it might strengthen again as it moved towards the US.
Notably, over 6.5 million people were ordered to evacuate ahead of Hurricane Irma and 70,000 people have moved into 385 shelters across the state of Florida.
As per the weather service, “Storm force winds may be felt in Tallahassee for 18 hours, starting from Sunday. In this regard, Florida State University has also set up a shelter for students who do not feel safe.
Florida Governor Rick Scott on Saturday claimed that protecting the lives of the people is the top priority and that no resource or expense will be spared to protect the families.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service station in Tallahassee tweeted that power outages may occur across the Panhandle area and the entire state. As per an estimate by the Florida Power and Light (FPL), nearly 3.4 million of its customers could be without power at some point during Irma.
