1/6 Image credit: Facebook Whatsapp has finally launched their all new Whatsapp Status WhatsApp has launched its Status feature for everyone. The new feature is somehow similar to Snapchat and Instagram Stories. With this new feature users can now share images, videos or gifs as their Whatsapp Status update for a duration of 24 hours. The new feature comes in the form of a tab on the main app, and lets you update your status in the form of images or short videos.
2/6 Image credit: Facebook Upgrade your Whatsapp App from the Google Play store You can simply use the new Whatsapp Status feature by upgrading the app by downloading the latest version from the Google Play store. After downloading the latest version you can see the 4th tab apart from Calls, Chats and Contacts. A camera icon, Chats, Status, Calls and then you can share media file with your friends.
3/6 Image credit: Facebook You can set any image in your phone gallery as your Whatsapp Status Whatsapp Status feature allow users to set any image in their phone gallery. There is no limitation of clicking a photo/video using Whatsapp camera only. Once you tap the Status tab, you will be automatically taken to the Whatsapp camera. You can either use the camera to click a photo or take a video on the screen. If you don’t want to use the Whatsapp camera you can choose pictures and videos from phone’s gallery and share your status.

In editing options, you can crop the photo, add text over the photo in a colour of your choice, add emoticons, etc. You can even add caption or a text on the bottom of the photo. For video you can add text, emoticon but you cannot crop the video.
5/6 Image credit: BGR Whatsapp Status updates on Whatsapp come with a privacy setting You can choose with whom to share your Whatsapp status updates with only your contacts or few of them. The privacy option you once choose is applicable to all future Status updates. You can change the privacy settings later. Once you set your Whatsapp status update, it will be automatically deleted in 24 hours. You cannot save it but can reshare it later once again.
6/6 Image credit: BGR There is no option to like or share someone’s Whatsapp Status message Currently there is no option to like or share someone’s Status message. You can simply see it and it is on only for a couple of seconds after which you’re automatically taken to the next Whatsapp Status, like a slideshow. However, you can reply to your friend’s Status and the reply cannot be seen below the Status but is sent to them as a separate Whatsapp Chat notification. Currently there is no option to turn off the Whatsapp Status option. If you don’t want to use the new Whatsapp status feature it then you can simply ignore the tab.
