The 65th National Film Awards are being announced at the PIB Conference Room, Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi at the moment. This year, the jury is headed by Shekhar Kapur. The jury panel has 10 members which include screenwriter Imtiaz Hussain, lyricist Mehboob, South Indian actress Gautami Tadimalla, Kannada director P Sheshadri, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Ranjit Das, Rajesh Mapuskar, Tripurari Sharma and Rumi Jaffrey. Though the announcement of the awards is happening today, the ceremony will be held on May 3, 2018. The award will be presented by President Ram Nath Kovind. After Sridevi was announced as the Best Actress, Mom director Ravi Udyawar said, ” Wow, she deserves it. I’m really happy it’s a great news for me because it was our film. She had done a fabulous job. We all are missing her now.” Taapsee Pannu too expressed her happiness after The Ghazi Attack won an award. She said, “Elated with the news about Ghazi winning the Best Telugu film. This is the third time I have had the opportunity to be a part of a National Award Winning film. Even though I had a special appearance in the film, it was personally a very satisfying part for me as an actor. I’m ecstatic with the news about the film winning the National Award Honour.”
