A tribute to celebrating 100 years of cinema at Whistling Woods International

For all the cinema lovers, aspiring filmmakers and media and fashion professionals out there, here is some good news! Whistling Woods International is all set to come up with a two- day workshop, ‘Celebrating Cinema’ on May 17th and 18th, 2014.

Some of the celebrated personalities from the industry such as Rekha, Subhash Ghai, Divya Dutta and Nikhil Advani among others are to inaugurate and master the classes.  The celebrity panel would have interactive sessions and would discuss topics such as New Voice in Indian Cinema, Socially responsible film making, and the opportunity and role women play in the Indian film industry. The discussions would also focus on young filmmakers debating on how the youth is reshaping Indian Cinema.

The highlights of the event would be:

  • Giving a special tribute to the renowned filmmaker, Balu Mahendra (Screening of film: Sadma).
  • Masterclass by filmmaker Amol Gupte on his recently released movie, Hawa Hawaai.
  • Screening of UTV Disney’s documentary on 100 years of Indian Cinema.

Not only that, but there would also be free workshops and seminars on Acting, Music, Make- up, Photography, 3D Filmmaking, Adverstising, Celebrity Styling, TV Broadcasting and Mobile Filmmaking.

In the last two years, the festival has seen some of the well- known industry stalwarts like A.R. Rahman, Gulzar, Anu Malik, Rohit Shetty, Parineeti Chopra, Rajeev Masand, Arjun Kapoor, and Dibakar Banerjee.
