Aamir Khan in trouble for branding policemen ‘thulla’ in PK
PK faced flak from religious groups for being snipy about religious leaders.
Aamir Khan’s worries of Bajrangi Bhaijaan surpassing PK is not the only thing that has him tensed these days. There has been a complaint made against the use of the word ‘thulla’ to describe a policeman during a scene where Aamir Khan is seen peeing on a wall in the 2014 film. The complainant, Ulhas PR, a short-film maker based in New Delhi filed a report in Ashok Nagar police station against the use of the derogatory term.
Recently, New Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal faced a lot of criticism for the use of the same word to describe New Delhi police officers. Mr Ulhas gave reference to the complains against the New Delhi CM before he was forced to apologise for his statement. Why did he take so long to bring the matter to the attention of the police? He says that he watched the film on TV recently and after mulling over the issue, he decided to go ahead with the complain to get the issue solved.
He added that he is not a member of the Aam Aadmi Party and wants to see if the use of the word ‘thulla’ is derogatory only if AAP Chief uses it. Mr Ulhas had also filed a complaint against the New Delhi CM for referring to the New Delhi government as ‘Kejriwal sarkar‘. To prove that the scene does in fact have the controversial word in the film, Mr Ulhas has given the Ashok Nagar police station a DVD of the film which has the scene where Aamir Khan is seen taking a piss on the outer wall of the Red Fort.
PK which also had stars like Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput, released on December 19, 2014 and went on to make a total of Rs 487 crore worth of business from worldwide sales. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film faced flak from religious groups for being snippy about religious leaders.
