Earlier there were reports that suggested, Rajkummar Rao has been roped in to play the lead in filmmaker Dinesh Vijan’s next production, which is an untitled horror comedy. With movies like Kai Po Che, City Lights, Newton, Rajkummar Rao has definitely become one of the bankable actors in B-Town. Now we hear that Shraddha Kapoor has been roped in to star alongside Rajkummar in the film. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Shraddha will play the female lead in the upcoming ‘yet to be titled’ film.
A spokesperson from Vijan’s production house has confirmed the news. Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying, “Shraddha will play a small town girl with a mystery surrounding her character. It’s a unique role and in a zone that the actress has not attempted before. She has really liked the script and gave her approval last week.” The film, that is touted to be horror comedy, will be written by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. The two are reuniting with director Vijan after the 2013 zombie comedy, Saif Ali Khan starrer Go Goa Gone. Also, Vijan’s upcoming project is currently in the pre-production stage. On the professional front, Shraddha will be next seen Prabhas starrer Hindi-Tamil-Telugu trilingual Saaho. While the actress is busy shooting for Saaho, she is also prepping for Amole Gupte’s Saina Nehwal biopic. The source told the portal, “Shraddha will start her prep for Dinesh’s film after she wraps up Saaho. The film will go on the floors in January.” Meanwhile, Rajkummar, who was on a break after he fractured his leg while rehearsing for a TV turn, has resumed shooting for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Fanney Khan. Besides, Rajkummar, Fanney Khan also features Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
