Salman Khan films on Eid comes as often as Eid itself does. And when the news broke out that there is a competitor in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, it always going to get a lot of reactions. Aishwarya’s next film opposite Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in Fanney Khan has gone on floors and the news was confirmed that Fanney Khan is set to clash with Salman Khan’s Race 3 on Eid next year. However, the reactions it has garnered does not bode well for the makers of Fanney Khan, and the trade experts have cautioned their decision.

According to a new report in Mid Day, the makers of Fanney Khan have been warned by trade experts on planning a 2018 Eid release, calling it “suicidal”. Talking to Mid Day, a trade analyst says, “Reactions to the news weren’t favourable. Eid is locked for a Salman film. Any film clashing with it must be contextually strong.” Following that, a number production meetings were held, resulting in a decision that the film will look for a new release date. Interestingly enough, the film is also missing from production house T-Series’ 2018 line-up. ALSO READ: Monday Blues No More As Salman Khan Shared Stills From Tiger Zinda Hai And Race 3

Earlier when they locked the date of Eid 2018, the producers were quite confident of their decision. Producers Arjun N Kapoor, Prernaa Arora and Bhushan Kumar had released a joint statement saying, “We have locked the release date of Fanney Khan on Eid 2018 (June 15). We decided on Eid because of the lead character Fanney Khan, played by Anil Kapoor, is a Muslim character and there’s no better day than Eid (to release it).” However, it seems they are set to retract their decision, but what will their next move be?
