Amidst Brahmastra And Kesari, Has Karan Johar Shelved Tiger Shroff Starrer Student Of The Year 2?

It has been a year since Karan Johar announced the sequel to his 2012 comedy drama Student Of The Year. The film is to be helmed by director Punit Malhotra, with Tiger Shroff set to star in the lead role. There have been speculation about Jhanvi Kapoor being launched by Karan Johar in the Student Of The Year sequel, however it seems like she will be making her debut in Johar’s remake of Sairat. But we wonder what next for the Student Of The Year 2 project?

KJo has been new announcing films in the last few days. Films like Brahmastra starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan, and also Kesari which is based on the battle of Saragarhi starring Akshay Kumar. But there was hasn’t been any word on the Student Of The Year sequel. That the film’s director Punit Malhotra is still working on the film’s script was the last we heard of it. Then there were also rumours that Jhanvi Kapoor will be seen starring alongside Tiger Shroff’s rumoured girlfriend Disha Patani as female leads. However, things still remain silent on that front and it seems that with Tiger also giving his dates to the Hrithik Roshan film, the film has, in fact, been shelved for now.

Meanwhile, there has been plenty of speculation regarding Brahmastra. It’s a fantasy adventure which said to be a trilogy and the first part would be hitting the silver screens on August 15, 2019. Being a superhero film, the budget is definitely going to be huge. A source informed DNA, “Karan plans to go big with ‘Brahmastra’. He has asked the team not to worry about the budget. KJo understands that a superhero film needs a mounting of a certain stature. The approximate budget of the film is expected to be over Rs. 100 crore, which also means that ‘Brahmastra’ will be KJo’s biggest film till date, budget wise. Previously, he had planned to make ‘Shuddhi’ on a scale like this but it didn’t work out.”
