What could be better than Bollywood’s male superstars setting the ramp on fire for a noble cause, women’s empowerment, currently the hot topic of the nation courtesy the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections? These stars comprised none other than the megastar of the millennium, Amitabh Bachchan, joined by Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and Sidharth Malhotra. They walked the ramp for ace designer Manish Malhotra for ‘Men for Mijwan’.
Like every year, the fashion show was organised by actress Mijwan Welfare Society that works towards the welfare of women and for empowerment of women generally. The NGO was set up by the late poet Kaifi Azmi and now is looked after by his daughter, actress-politician Shabana Azmi.
At the show, Shabana was also present along with the handsome hunks of Bollywood. We take a look at actors’ outfits, which followed the traditional trend for the evening.
The actor looked simply stylish in the Manish Malhotra’s blue bandhgala Chikankari kurta. Definitely the limelight of the show, Amitabh Bachchan walked the ramp with a brilliant presence. The white pathani salwars, spectacles and the maroon-red mojaris were perfect!
The heartthrob of this generation was not only stylish but full of positive energy on the ramp. Clad in a white and golden kurta with a shawl thrown over it, grey pants completed his attire. He made funny poses for the camera, which brought cheers among the spectators.
The moustachioed Akshay Kumar looked suave as he walked the ramp in the buttoned bandhgala jacket and white slim-fit pants. Khiladi Kumar’s jet-black hair swept aside mafia style set the audience cheering.
In a blue bandhgala kurta, Farhan Akhtar was the no-nonsense model who walked with a lot of poise. He teamed the kurta over traditional white pants. The minimal golden details over the kurta collar added flair to the Manish Malhotra design.
Acting in Karan Johar movies must have given the Ek Villain actor a lot of practice with the traditional dresses and it reflected on his ramp walk for Manish Malhotra’s show. The actor looked sexy in a bandhagla kurta and flared Patialas.
