Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, released on July 11, failed to kick-off with a great start at the box office. But as every alternate Dharma Productions movie, it started picking up from the second day. After collecting an average Rs. 9 crore on day one, the movie had a steep rise on Saturday. It collected huge Rs. 11.25 crore on the second day.

Third day being Sunday, it was expected from the movie to accelerate a bit. Sunday proved to be the best day for the movie, as it collected humongous Rs. 13.50 crore.

Movies having average content and negative word-of-mouth starts dropping from the fourth day. But the positive word-of-mouth helped the movie to sustain itself on the busy week-day. It collected 5.78 crore on Monday.

The movie has netted Rs. 39.50 crore in India, and is doing well in overseas too. According to the trade-experts the movie will collect around Rs. 70 crore at the box-office. Dharma Productions, after the fresh success of 2 States, is looking again to hit the gold with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.

Previous week witnessed two duds at the box office in Bobby Jasoos and Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was free from competition by Bollywood, but it was definitely affected by Riteish Deshmukh’s Marathi debut movie- Lai Bhaari. Both the movies are expected to dominate this week.
