We had been hearing a lot about Karan Johar launching Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s brother, Ishaan Khattar in the Hindi remake of the Marathi hit film, Sairat. We had been waiting for an official confirmation for the longest time and today as if to put an end to our endless wait, Karan Johar tweeted the first look of the film, formally announcing the launch of Ishaan and Jhanvi to Dharma Productions, and thereby Bollywood. The Hindi remake of Sairat is titled Dhadak and the film is all set to go on floors in just a few days. The first poster that was out a couple a minutes ago, has a stark similarity to the original Marathi film. The first poster carried the official movie release date as well ie July 6 2018.

Minutes after the first poster was out, KJo shared the second and the third posters, individually introducing Janhvi and Ishaan respectively. Both are looking absolutely stunning in the posters and to say that we are excited for the film wouldn’t be an understatement. If this is how good they’re looking in the posters, just imagine how good they will look on screen. The film will be directed by Shashank Khaitan of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania fame that starred Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan who interestingly were also launched by Karan Johar in the 2012 film, Student of the Year. The first shooting schedule will begin in Jaipur and if reports are to be believed then both Janhvi and Ishaan have already left for the city. Meanwhile, take a look at the two posters, we’re going absolutely crazy about.

Now, wasn’t it worth the wait! Unlike Janhvi, this film won’t be the debut film for Ishaan. He has already been seen in two films before this—both with big brother Shahid in Waah Life Ho Toh Aisi and Udta Punjab. Recently, he also starred in an international trilingual film titled Beyond the Dreams, helmed by Academy Award winner Majid Majidi. Meanwhile, all eyes are on Janhvi and Sara Ali Khan who were pitted against each other from the time the news of them venturing into Bollywood started doing the rounds. Although Dhadak is going on floors after Sara’s debut film Kedarnath, it will be releasing before it.  Sara’s Kedarnath will release only on December 21, 2018. So, how excited are you for the next year? Let us know in the comments’ section below.
