Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar starts shooting 'Calendar Girls'

Mumbai, Jul 23: National Award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has started shooting his next project “Calendar Girls”. He will launch five fresh faces with the movie. “Start shooting #CalendarGirls from today (Wednesday)! High on concept, this youthful film has 5 new faces to be shot in 40 day start-to-finish schedule,” Bhandarkar tweeted.

Madhur Bhandarkar is known for making real life inspired movies and painting a whole new picture on the celluloid. The movie Calendar girls will revolve around models who rose to fame after featuring on famous calendars. The movie is expected to give us a glimpse of many real-life model-turned-actors.

The movie will apparently also have a character based on industrialist Vijay Mallya, since he is known for launching models in his annual swimsuit calendars.

Earlier there were reports that he had approached model-turned-actress Deepika Padukone for the film but the rumours were quashed. Bhandarkar, who has helmed films like “Fashion”, “Page 3” and “Corporate”, last directed a project titled “Heroine” in 2012 featuring Kareena Kapoor.
