Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film, Padmavati that also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. The film didn’t start on a good note, as sets were vandalized not once, but twice by a group of protesters. But let’s not get into all of that now, as tension has reduced down as of now and the actors have resumed shooting for the period drama. And we have an update on the film right from the horses mouth, as they say.
So Ranveer recently shot for a new rapping video for a clothing brand, and to talk about that he went Live on his Facebook page few hours back. During this interaction, he was asked about Padmavati and here’s what he said, “Things are going extremely well. I mean, everyday I leave the sets feeling extremely fulfilled and gratified, which is what you want, you know. When you leave the film set, you want to feel aaj acha kaam hua. Because I have got the guy. Mr Bhansali. He won’t leave the set till he feels like he got something good on that day. His steadfast excellence is something that is truly admirable. The way he pushes every single person in the team and tries to bring out the best in each one, so that we have the best of each and everyone in the team in this collaborative effort. and that is something that only he can create. He is a very special filmmaker. And we are pouring our best energies in this film, and hoping to make something that is truly memorable.” ALSO READ: Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali get into an argument on the sets of Padmavati! He also talked about the equation he shares with Shahid on sets. “I have started working with Shahid as well. And he is an extremely fun person to work with. He is such a fantasic and generous actor. He also has a really amazing sense of humour. So we are always bantering on the sets. Mr Bhansali creates an environment of a collaboration, so it’s a very collaborative process. I am really enjoying it. We are sitting on a very juicy prospect,” added the actor.
One fan also asked him about his obsession with period dramas. He was last seen in Bajirao Mastani and now he is gearing for Padmavati. “I love historicals. I am a period film junkie. I love all those movies. The great ones like Spartacus and Gladiator. The not so great ones also I love, let me not name them. And there are a few,” concluded Ranveer.
