After the kind of brutal trolling Sidharth Malhotra endured following his innocent but untimely tweet suggesting people to watch his film A Gentleman, we don’t blame him for being dismissive about it. In his determination to promote his then newly released film, Sidharth didn’t much realise the gravity of the situation before he wrote in his tweet: “To all the people of Haryana, please stay safe. Hope you can see our film soon #Agentleman #PeaceAndLove”

The crowds were appalled at the actor’s twisted perception of priorities and in return trolled him ruthlessly. However after receiving all the backlash, he defended his tweets which reads, ” To people who are commenting on my morning tweets, they were made before the verdict! Thoughts n prayers”. He even expressed his grief over the current situation, It’s really sad to see the situation worsen since morning and see people in Punjab and Haryana. Love  and prayers.” But it was too late by then, and people were enjoying the trolling too much to stop. ALSO READ: Sidharth Malhotra any regret on your tweet?

So recently, during an interaction with a leading daily, when Sidharth was asked about this whole scenario, he replied, “Initially, trolls and rumours would affect me. I did not grow up in the industry and I am not used to the rumour mill. I had to train myself to let it go. It is an unproductive energy that should be ignored. It is a matter of training my own head to be aware but not let it affect me.”

So seemingly ignoring this entire scenario, Sidharth is now busy shooting for Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary alongside Manoj Bajpayee, Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher and Rakul Preet. The film is aiming to hit the screens next year during the Republic Day weekend.
